1. Who we are and what this covers

Weekly (“Weekly”, “we”, “us”) is operated by Matías Monzalvo, an individual based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. You can reach us at support@weeklygrid.app.

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) apply to the Weekly mobile app, the website at weeklygrid.app, and everything we offer through them (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your information and forms part of this agreement.

2. Who can use Weekly

You must be at least 13 years old to use Weekly. There is no version of the Service for people under 13, and we do not knowingly allow anyone under 13 to create an account. We ask for your date of birth during sign-up and we check it before an account can be created. If you do not meet the minimum age, sign-up stops there.

Some countries set a higher minimum age for consenting to online services on your own. If the law where you live requires you to be older than 13, that higher age applies to you.

If we learn that an account belongs to someone under the minimum age, we will disable it and delete the content associated with it. If you believe a child under 13 has an account on Weekly, tell us at support@weeklygrid.app.

You also may not use Weekly if we have previously removed you, or if you are barred from doing so under applicable law.

3. Your account

You can sign up with your email address, with Sign in with Apple, or with Google. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you tell us, for keeping your password and your device secure, and for everything that happens through your account.

Your username is yours to use while your account is active, but it is not property. We may reclaim a username that impersonates someone, infringes a trademark, or is being held without use, and we may require you to change one.

Tell us promptly at support@weeklygrid.app if you think someone else has access to your account.

4. Your content stays yours

You keep ownership of every photo, caption, comment and anything else you post to Weekly (your “Content”). We do not claim it, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to train machine learning models.

What we do need is permission to show it. So that Weekly can work, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish and display your Content, solely to operate, maintain and improve the Service.

Two parts of that deserve a plain explanation, because they sound broader than they are:

  • “Modify and adapt” is technical, not editorial. Weekly crops your photo to the exact shape of the blocks you selected, resizes it, and stores a smaller version to load your grid quickly. We do not edit your Content in any other sense.
  • “Sublicensable and transferable” covers our infrastructure providers, who store and deliver your images on our behalf, and any successor if the Service is ever transferred. It is not permission to hand your Content to anyone else.

This licence lasts only as long as your Content is on Weekly. When you delete a post, or delete your account, the licence ends. Copies may persist for a limited period in routine backups, and we may retain what we need to comply with law or resolve a dispute.

We will not use your Content in advertising or external marketing without asking you first. Showing your grid inside the Service — in the feed of people who follow you, in Trending Grids, on a share page you generated — is part of operating it, and is governed by your privacy settings.

5. What you promise about your content

By posting Content, you confirm that:

  • you own it, or you have all the rights and permissions needed to post it;
  • it does not infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other rights;
  • everyone recognisable in a photo you post is fine with you posting it, and if a photo includes a child, you are their parent or guardian or have that person’s permission;
  • it does not break these Terms or any law that applies to you.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) brought by a third party and arising out of Content you posted or your breach of these Terms.

6. Rules of the place

There is zero tolerance on Weekly for objectionable content and for abusive behaviour. This is not a formality. An account that breaks these rules can be removed without notice.

Do not post, upload, send or share:

  • sexual content involving minors, in any form, real or generated — this results in immediate removal and a report to the relevant authorities;
  • pornography or sexually explicit material;
  • content that harasses, bullies, threatens or intimidates a specific person, or that encourages others to do so;
  • hate speech, or content that attacks or demeans people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or serious illness;
  • graphic violence or gore, and content that promotes, glorifies or encourages self-harm, suicide or eating disorders;
  • content that promotes terrorism, violent extremism or organised crime;
  • the sale of illegal goods, drugs, weapons, or anything else the law forbids;
  • spam, scams, phishing, or deceptive commercial schemes;
  • someone else’s private information — an address, a phone number, an identity document — posted without their consent;
  • impersonation of another person, brand or organisation;
  • content that infringes anyone’s intellectual property.

And do not:

  • access the Service by any means other than the app and the website — no scraping, no automated clients, no reverse engineering, no circumventing our rate limits or security;
  • collect other people’s data from the Service, or use it to build a competing dataset or product;
  • create accounts in bulk, buy or sell accounts, or artificially inflate likes;
  • interfere with the Service’s operation, or attempt to access data you are not authorised to see;
  • use Weekly for any purpose that is illegal where you are.

7. Reporting, blocking and enforcement

Weekly gives you tools, and we use them too.

  • Report. Every account, photo and grid can be reported from inside the app, with a reason. Reports reach us directly and are reviewed.
  • Block. Blocking someone removes them from your feed, your search results, your notifications and your comments, hides your content from them, and severs any follow relationship in both directions.
  • Private accounts. You can make your account private at any time, so that only followers you have approved can see your grids.

When something is reported to us, we review it and we act. Depending on what we find, we may leave it, remove the content, limit an account’s reach, suspend it, or terminate it permanently. We may act without prior notice where the content is severe or the harm is ongoing, and we may preserve and disclose information where the law requires it or where someone’s safety is at risk.

We keep a record of repeat offenders and we terminate accounts that repeatedly break these rules.

We are a small team and we do not pre-screen everything that gets posted. If you see something that breaks these rules, report it — that is what makes moderation work.

8. How grids work

A Weekly grid is 36×36 blocks and has a seven-day countdown. You fill it with photos cropped to the blocks you select. When the countdown ends, the grid closes and moves to your profile. A closed grid is frozen and cannot be edited. You can still delete it.

Shared grids. You can create a grid with one or more other people, either as a one-off or recurring every seven days. In a shared grid, everyone who is a member can see the grid and the posts in it. Each person owns the posts they contributed. The person who created the grid can manage its members.

Invitation links. Anyone holding an invitation link to a shared grid can join it. Treat those links the way you would treat any link that grants access — share them only with people you want in the grid.

When someone leaves. If a member deletes their account, their posts are deleted with it, including posts they contributed to a shared grid. The blocks they filled become empty and the grid stays as it is, incomplete. We do this because your right to delete your own content comes first — but it means a shared grid can lose part of itself if a member leaves, and everyone should know that before starting one.

Trending Grids. Public grids may appear in Trending and in search or discovery surfaces inside the Service. There is no prize and nothing to win — it is a way for people to find grids. We may change or remove these surfaces at any time.

9. Copyright complaints

If you believe something on Weekly infringes your copyright, write to us at support@weeklygrid.app with:

  • your name, address and contact details;
  • identification of the work you say has been infringed;
  • a link to the content on Weekly, precise enough for us to find it;
  • a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent or the law;
  • a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf;
  • your signature, physical or electronic.

We remove content that is the subject of a valid notice, tell the person who posted it, and terminate the accounts of repeat infringers. If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you can send us a counter-notice at the same address, with the same detail and a statement of why you believe the removal was in error.

If you are in the European Union, you can use the same address to notify us of any content you consider illegal under the Digital Services Act. We will confirm receipt, decide without undue delay, and tell you what we decided and why.

10. Our intellectual property

The Weekly name, logo, app, website, design and software are ours and are protected by intellectual property law. These Terms grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. Nothing here transfers ownership of anything to you.

If you send us feedback or a suggestion, we can use it freely and without owing you anything. Please do not send us anything you consider confidential.

11. The Service will change

Weekly is under active development. We add features, change them and remove them. We may modify or discontinue any part of the Service, temporarily or permanently, with or without notice. We will try to give reasonable notice of a change that materially reduces what you get, but we cannot always do so.

Weekly is free today. If we introduce paid features in the future, we will publish the terms that apply to them before you can buy anything.

12. Ending the agreement

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleting it removes your profile, your grids and your posts, as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you break these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if keeping it would create risk or legal exposure for us or for other people. Except where the breach is serious or the law prevents it, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.

The sections that by their nature should survive termination — content licence for material already distributed, indemnities, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law — survive it.

13. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, that content will always be available, or that defects will be corrected. Weekly is not a backup service. Keep your own copies of photos that matter to you.

Content on Weekly is posted by its users. We do not endorse it and we are not responsible for it.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill or content, arising out of your use of or inability to use the Service.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty United States dollars.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you — including, for consumers, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and for fraud.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Argentine Republic. Any dispute will be submitted to the ordinary courts of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.

If you are a consumer, this does not take away rights you have under the mandatory law of the country where you live, and it does not stop you bringing a claim in your local courts where that law gives you the right to. Consumers in Argentina keep every right granted by Law 24.240. Consumers in the European Union keep the protections of their own country’s law and may use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform.

Before starting anything formal, please write to us at support@weeklygrid.app. Most things are faster to solve that way.

16. If you installed Weekly from the Apple App Store

These terms are required by Apple and apply to you in addition to everything above.

  • This agreement is between you and us only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
  • Your licence to use the app is limited to Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app. Support is ours: support@weeklygrid.app.
  • If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever, and any other claims are our responsibility.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to a legal requirement, and claims under consumer protection or privacy law.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of any third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual property rights.
  • You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a United States government embargo or designated as terrorist-supporting, and that you are not on any United States government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, will have the right to enforce them against you.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. When we make a material change, we will update the date at the top and give you notice in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Weekly after a change means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not, delete your account.

18. Everything else

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing something is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours to a successor.
